Recent reports estimate that Indian wheat export is soaring high due to the rise in global prices. So far, 1.5 million tonnes of wheat have been exported to Bangladesh and the Gulf nations. Further, the production hit in the US, Russia, and Canada has led to an increase in export from India as well. Furthermore, trade experts forecast that India could export 2.6-2.7 million tonnes of wheat in this fiscal.

Despite expert’s opinion that Millets can eradicate malnutrition in India, the majority of the households prefer paddy and wheat cultivation.
