According to data released by agriculture ministry wheat production in India has increased to more than 101 million tonnes for 2019 crop harvest year. Production has increased by 1.3% from previous year but the overall food production in India is down from previous year due to low production of pulses and coarse grains. Globally prices of wheat and corn/maize have seen a fall since US Department of Agriculture published their monthly report confirming higher planting and production of wheat and corn in the country. Futures of wheat and corn fell by over 6% since the report was published.
