USD/INR- The Indian Rupee settled at 72.40 at 6:45 PM INR on 17 March. The Indian rupee traded between 72.323 and 72.570 today. On the other hand, the dollar index started this week on a high. Accordingly, it’s value increased and settled at 91.48 as of 9:48 PM EDT Wednesday.
USD/ INR: Oil Prices
The US WTI crude oil prices fell on Wednesday. However, with the ongoing oil demand concern and the growing coronavirus pandemic, it is highly uncertain. Also, recent studies predict that the oil demand will not reach the pre-crisis level until 2023. Accordingly, crude oil decreased by 0.06% at 6:30 PM on 17 March to trade at USD 64.33 per barrel globally. On the other hand, Brent Crude was set at USD 67.70 per barrel traded 0.44% lower on Wednesday.
USD/ INR- Gold Prices
Precious metal prices rose marginally today, making up for yesterdays fall. Accordingly, gold futures increased by 0.10% or 47.00 Rupees to settle at 44860.00 per 10 grams on the multi-commodity exchange. Similarly, Silver futures rose by 303.00 Rupees or 0.45% to settle at Rs. 67222.00 per kg. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the COVID-19 mutants kept precious metals’ prices on edge this year. In the international market, Spot Gold was trading at USD 1733.90 per ounce in New York. On the other hand, Silver traded at USD 26.08 per ounce.
USD/ INR- Sensex Today
The BSE Sensex fell for the third consecutive day on 17 March and continues this week in the red. Accordingly, Sensex decreased by 1.12% or 562.34 points. Thereby ending the session at 49,801.62 at 4:10 PM IST Wednesday. Similarly, the NIFTY decreased by 1.27% or 189.15 points and ended up at 14,721.30.
