Two Farmer Unions Withdraw From Protest After Republic Day violence

During the tractor rally in Delhi, the outbreak of republic day violence has resulted in two farmer unions withdrawing themselves from the protest. While several farmers comment that ” Violence is not acceptable”.

Farmers Union Step-Back from the Protest

Following the violent breakout, VM Singh, the Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan announced their withdrawal from protests. Further, he confirms that the union would not support the ongoing protest. However, the fight for farmers will continue without any further agitation. Also, VM Singh affirms that his organization has no connection with republic day violence.

Similarly, Bharatiya Kisan Union President Thakur Bhanu Pratap Singh also condemns the violence that broke out on Republic day. Thereby, Bharatiya Kisan Union also withdrew their support to the farmer’s protest. While announcing the withdrawal, he conveys that this violent act is deeply hurtful and ends the 58-day rally.

Unwanted Commotion on Republic Day

The despicable, chaotic, and mindless violence unleashed by a fraction of farmers on Republic day was shameful. The national capital saw barricade breakage and unwarranted attack on police personnel. Subsequently, farmers stormed the Red Fort premises and hoisted religious flags. Rakesh Tikait, Bhartiya Kisan Union, led the Republic Day violence.

Delhi Police: Ready to take Action Against Everyone Involved

In addition to public property damage, over 394 police personnel face injuries in Republic day violence. Of which, several are fighting for their lives in ICU. As of now, more than 25 FIRs is registered by the Delhi Police. Yesterday, while addressing the media, Delhi Police will not spare anyone involved in the violence. Following that, the arrest of 19 culprits, and 50 people detention is confirm.

In all, the violence has resulted in several farmers rethinking their form of protest. Even though the fight against the farm laws will continue, the march and violence will come to an end. Two fractions of farmers union withdrew their support, and several farmers are yet to follow.
