One more person tested positive for Coronavirus in Uttarakhand as total cases reached 27 in the state. The person is from Almora and had attended Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin Markaz. Recently, number of cases in Uttarakhand spiked in the past four days due to linkage with Tablighi Jamaat. Currently, total COVID-19 positive cases in India stand at 4372, active cases 3905, recovered patients 337 and 130 deaths.
Total Coronavirus Cases in Uttarakhand
As seen on the graph the total number of cases have spiked up since 2nd of April as the state officials started tracking people from the state who attended Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. Luckily no death in the state so far.
Dehradun Worst Affected in the State
Total of 14 people have tested positive in Dehradun, making it the worst affected City/District in Uttarakhand. Second worst affected district is Nainital with 6 cases. Followed by Udham Singh Nagar with 3, Pauri Garhwal 2, Haridwar 1 and the first case in Almora reported today.
Uttarakhand Recovered Cases
Total of 4 patients have recovered in Uttarakhand. The number includes 2 Indian Forest Service Probationers who had tested positive.
DGP Utttarakhand Warns Jamaat Attendees to Come Out and Report to Officials in 24 Hours
Anil Raturi, Director General of Police Uttarakhand, on Sunday gave a final warning to all those in the state that have attended Tablighi Jamaat event at Nizamuddin Markaz to come out and report themselves to the officials in 24 hours. Otherwise they face repercussions and FIR would be registered against them under sections of murder and attempt to murder.
