Prices of basmati rice and non-basmati rice remain the same as previous update. According to data published by APEDA, export of non-basmati rice declined by almost 38% from 50 million tonnes approximately in April to November 2018 to 31 Million Tonnes in April to November 2019. Government’s decision to increase MSP of paddy backfired without considering the international market. Price of rice in Vietnam, Thailand and China is much cheaper than India.
