Basmati Rice prices increased by Rs 50-100 per quintal today. This increase was due to panic buying owing to coronavirus lock down in India. Coronavirus cases globally increased to 1,90,000 and 142 cases in India. As suggested by state and central governments lock down in the coming weeks will lead to temporary increase in demand of basmati and non-basmati rice in India.
