FCI rice procurement in the states of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand remained at a very low level. Low rice procurement affected paddy prices in the states thereby lowering farmer’s income. Even after MSP, farmers were forced to sell their produce at 200-300 rupees per quintal lower than the minimum support price. Price of Basmati Rice and Non-Basmati Rice remained stable today.
