Basmati rice market gained momentum further since yesterday with prices increasing by Rs 100 per quintal. Currently, demand for organic basmati rice has increased with importers from Europe and Saudi Arabia permitted to import rice without pesticides.
Paddy prices increased too by 50-70 rupees per quintal for 1121 Basmati, 1509 basmati, Sugandha and 1401 basmati paddy varieties.
