NIFTY50 and SENSEX Lose High Resistance Levels

BSE Sensex index and NSE Nifty50 index closes the day’s session with losses. While Sensex dropped by 413 points ending at 33956 losing 34000 mark, Nifty50 ended 120 points lower at 10046, losing the 10200-10100 levels.

Weakness in European markets and a high decline in domestic equity market led the market to lose early gains to close low. High buying was witnessed in Healthcare and Realty stocks. Banking, Telecom and Energy sector experienced increased selling in the later session. Experts suggest weakness in the equity market with a fall in coming sessions. World Bank projects India’s GDP to fall to 3.2% this year with expectations of bouncing back in 2021 regaining momentum.  

Investors will keenly watch global trends and US Federal policies for new developments. It may affect the domestic financial market and Rupee performance against the US Dollar index.

Top Gainers: S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty50

In the BSE market, Sharika Enterprises gained the most by 20%. Further, SMS Pharma, Sundaram Brake, Surana Solar and Agarwal Industries gained over 20%, 20%, 19.98% and 19.95% respectively. In the NSE market, SMS Pharma topped by 20%. Other gainers include Xelpmoc Design, Hind Nat Glass, Remsons Industries and STL Global rising 19.98%, 19.95%, 19.94% and 19.54% respectively.

On BSE Sensex index, IndusInd Bank topped the list by 2.71%. Other gainers include Sun Pharma, M&M, HDFC and ITC increasing by 2.37%, 1.68%, 0.55% and 0.43% respectively. On NSE Nifty50 index, Dr Reddy Labs gained the highest by 3.94%. Followed by M&M, Bharti Infratel, Adani Ports and Eicher Motors gaining by 1.68%, 1.22%, 0.80% and 0.78% respectively.

Losers: S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty50

In the BSE market, Franklin Leasing lost the highest by 20%. Other losers include Nitta Gelatin, Vodafone Idea, Rishiroop and Swan Energy losing 15.95%, 15.93%, 12.83% and 10.81% respectively. On the NSE market, Opal Luxury was affected by 18.75%. Further, Swan Energy, INOX Leisure, Khadim India and Tera Software declined by 10.42%, 10.17%, 9.97% and 9.86% respectively.

On BSE Sensex index, ICICI Bank lost the most by 3.15%. Further, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance, Kotak Mahindra and Titan Company lost 2.93%, 2.55%, 2.54%, 2.26% respectively. On NSE Nifty50 index, Wipro dropped the most by 3.58%. Other losers include GAIL, Tata Motors, BPCL and HDFC Bank dipping 3.48%, 3.46%, 3.20% and 2.82% respectively.

FII and DII

Foreign Institutional Investors invested an additional amount of INR 490.81 crores in the domestic financial market following a positive trend in the economy. Foreign investors bought stocks of value INR 6502.25 crores and sold-off stocks of value INR 6011.44 crores.

Domestic Institutional Investors took out a net value of INR 733.33 crores tracking losses in today’s session in the equity market. In addition, domestic investors bought stocks of INR 4043.52 crores and sold-off INR 4776.85 crores of value.
