Noting the increase in the number of mischievous activities in the name of MSME promotion export council, Ministry of MSMEs clarifies its stance. Government warns the public against unauthorised MSME export promotion council.
Ministry of MSME Clarifies its Position
The Ministry of MSME issued a notice clarifying mischievous activities of its export promotion council. The ministry reports a circulation of several messages on social media, including a letter of appointments of director of the organization. The notice stated that the ministry has no association with MSME export council in any way. Also, it has not authorized any posting or appointment to any post related to this council. Further, it alerted the public to not fall for misleading messages circulated by the agency.
Export Promotion Council- a Private Company
The export promotion council on its website stated that it is a private company. Further, it explained its charitable purpose formation under Section 8 of the companies Act. Additionally, it clarifies that it is neither a government department and nor in link to the GoI in any way. Also, it will help small businesses in exploring export business opportunities. However, it also stated that it would work in association with the ministry in assisting small enterprises in their export efforts.
In all, the Ministry has refused of having any relation with export promotion council and advised people to be cautious.
