Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in India with a total of 147740 COVID-19 cases as the state witnessed 4841, almost 5000 cases in a single day. A total of 6931 deaths recorded so far, of which 192 noted today. Coronavirus cases growth in Maharashtra is rising sharply. 77453 patients have recovered in the state so far.
Maharashtra District Wise Coronavirus Report
The total number of cases in Mumbai district stands at a concerning number at 69528. Following that, Thane district is the second-worst affected district with over 27880 cases. Also, Pune district reported 17445 COVID-19 positive cases so far. The least affected area in Maharashtra is Wardha with a total of 14 COVID-19 positive cases, and no cases reported today.
COVID-19 Testing in Maharashtra
Maharashtra has tested 850410 COVID-19 samples so far. The state health officials confirm testing around 6962 people per million. Further, it confirms 1209 positive cases for every 1 million. For every 100 positive cases, 43 are active in the state.
Death Rate and Cured Cases
Mortality rate stands still at 4.69%. The death rate is higher than the national average of 3.12%. The recovery rate of the state increased to 52.43%. Till date, a total of 77453 patients have been cured including 3661 discharges noted today. While the death rate stands at a concerning 6931, over half of the country’s death toll.
COVID-19 Cases among Cops in the State
Over 4200 coronavirus positive cases recorded in Maharashtra Police force so far. Out of which, 3000 have recovered. The death toll mounts to 54 as three fatalities reported today. Out of the 54 deaths, 34 are from Mumbai Police Force.
Maharashtra to Open Gyms and Salons
Maharashtra Minister Aslam Sheikh announces that the gyms and salon will be operational within a week. But, the state government will set rules and guidelines to follow prior the opening. However, the government has not considered opening religious institutions. Also, it has not acknowledged requests regarding religious gatherings.
Maharashtra Received the COVID-19 Drug
Maharashtra is one among the five states that receive the first batch of the coronavirus drug. Hetero, Hyderabad- based approved drug procured sends out 20000 vials to the five worst-hit states of India. In the following days, Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Patna, Goa, Bhubaneshwar, Vijayawada, Bhopal, Kochi, and Trivandrum will receive the drug under the name COVIFOR.
