Maharashtra remains the worst affected state in India with a total of 94041 COVID-19 cases, as 3254 Coronavirus cases confirmed today. Active cases as on date stand at 46087. A total of 3438 deaths recorded so far, of which 149 were noted today, the highest deaths recorded in a day.
Coronavirus Cases in Mumbai District Cross 50,000
The total number of cases in Mumbai district stands at a concerning number at 52667. Today alone, Mumbai reported 1567 new cases. Following that, Thane district is the second-worst affected district with over 14720 cases, of which 657 were recorded today. The least affected districts in Maharashtra are Washim and Wardha with 14 COVID-19 positive cases each.
COVID-19 Testing in Maharashtra
Maharashtra has tested 595282 COVID-19 samples so far. A record 15,988 tests confirmed today in Maharashtra. The state health officials confirm testing around 4873 people per million. Further, Maharashtra confirms 770 positive cases for every 1 million tests.
Death Rate and Cured Cases
Mortality rate increased to 3.66% from 3.62%. The death rate is higher than the national average of 2.79%. The recovery rate of the state is 47.34%. Till date, a total of 44516 patients have been cured. While the death rate stands at a concerning 3438, over half of the nations death toll.
COVID-19 Cases among Cops in the State
Total coronavirus cases in the Maharashtra force stand at 2,562 while the death toll stands at 34. Over 1908 Mumbai policemen have been affected by coronavirus infection. Total recovered cases among SRPFs are 905. Sadly, it has recorded 21 deaths so far.
Not Following the Coronavirus Lockdown Norms
Total 124369 cases have been registered under Section 188 of IPC, since 22nd March till today for violation of lockdown norms. 846 accused arrested in cases for assaulting policemen.
