Karnataka COVID-19 count jumps to 6824 as 308 new Coronavirus cases today. Concurrently, it recorded 208 discharges making the recovered count 3648. Active cases in the state surged to 3092. The death toll in the state stands at 82 as three COVID-19 deaths reported today. Previously, Karnataka had reported more recovered cases than new cases three times in this week.
Karnataka’s Growth Rate in New COVID-19 Cases reduces to 4% from the previous 5%.
Karnataka COVID-19 District Wise Report
Udupi remains on top of the worst-hit districts in Karnataka with COVID-19 cases surging past 1000 mark. Total positive cases stand at 1005 in Udipi district out of which 14 new cases reported today. Kalaburagi and Yadgir Districts follow with 883 and 787 Coronavirus positive cases respectively. Further, Kalaburgai District reported highest (67) new COVID-19 cases today.
Death Rate and Cured Cases in Karnataka
Mortality rate increased to 1.20% against the national average of 2.79%. Total of Recovered cases increased to 3648. The death toll is at now 82 in Karnataka. Also, total COVID-19 testing in the state stands at 4,36,518 on 13th June.
Annual Temple Festival Fails to Follow the Current Safety Guidelines
The large crowd in Haveri District’s annual temple festival ignored the risks of the pandemic. Consequently, people were seen without masks while violating social distancing norms. Further, a video highlighted the crowd congested in a narrow street to watch a wagon race. Meanwhile, the district administration has filed a case against officials that granted permission for such an event in Karnataka.
Medical Education Minister Requests Citizens to Continue Fight Against Coronavirus
K Sudhakar highlights that Bengaluru is successfully preventing the spread of the infection. Also, he advised the citizens to continue the fighting spirit to diminish the infection. Further, BBMP adds 21 containment zones in Bengaluru while acknowledging the alarming spurt in COVID-19 cases.
Currently, the confusion regarding the online classes is continuing in Karnataka as the government is yet to decide on the same matter. In another case, a BMTC driver cum conductor at KR Puram Depot is COVID-19 positive, now risking an even broader spread of the infection because of his contact with the passengers.
