Karnataka reported 204 new Coronavirus cases today. Total Coronavirus cases in Karnataka now stand at 5412. Active cases as on date stand at 3257 as 159 patients cured today and two deaths reported.
Growth Rate in New COVID-19 Cases Averages at 9% in Karnataka
Karnataka COVID-19 District Wise Report
Udupi District remains the worst affected, with over 901 total Coronavirus cases after witnessing a spike in new cases in the past couple of weeks. Kalaburagi and Yadgir Districts report a total of 660 and 515 Coronavirus positive cases respectively. Chamarajanagar district remains the only one in the state with no Coronavirus cases reported till date. Further, all 18 COVID-19 cases reported in Chikkamagaluru are cured, so the district has zero active cases.
Death Rate and Cured Cases in Karnataka
Mortality rate stands at 1.18% way below the national average of 2.80%. Total of Recovered cases increased to 2132 while the death toll rose to 61 in Karnataka.
Increase in Testing
Total tests conducted by the state stand at 384442. Total tests conducted on Sunday were 11860. Further, Karnataka’s COVID-19 testing increased to more than 11000 tests per day for the past 10 days. Total tests per million population stood at 5843 as on 07.06.2020.
CM Yediyurappa has pledged to increase testing, availability of drugs and essentials as he aims to win the fight against COVID over the next one month.
Nawayath Muslims Helping Authorities in Karnataka
The Nawayath Muslims have volunteered to help quarantine the vulnerable while also to feed the poor. While most of the nation were pointing fingers, the Bhatkal tribe initiated the act of containment rather than being provoked to the taunts. Instead, they encouraged quarantine to anyone that was a part of the Tablighi jamaat event.
