Karnataka reported over 308 new Coronavirus cases today. Total Coronavirus cases in Karnataka now stand at 5760. Active cases as on date stand at 3175 as 387 patients recovered today while three positive patients passed away.

Udupi District remains the worst affected, with 947 COVID-19 positive count after witnessing a recent spike in new cases. Closely following Udupi are Kalaburagi and Yadgir Districts with an overall tally of 759 and 581 Coronavirus positive cases respectively. Chamarajanagar district remains the only one in the state with no Coronavirus cases to date. Further, Kodagu, Ramanagara, and Koppal are the least affected districts with a total of 3, 5 and 6 confirmed cases respectively.
Death Rate and Cured Cases in Karnataka
Mortality rate decreased to 1.11% way below the national average of 2.80%. Total of Recovered cases increased to 2519 while the death toll rose to 64 in Karnataka.
Unlock Phase 1 in Karnataka
Bannerghatta Biological park opens for visitors today. Devotees visit St. Mary’s Church in Bangalore, Sharana Basaveshwara Temple in Kalaburagi, and Mookambika temple in Udupi district. Political Leaders Not Setting the Right Example
A local JDS Corporator, Imran Pasha, was joyful at the receiving end of a celebratory procession organized for his return. Following his COVID-19 recovery, his supporters showered their leader with flowers. Unfortunately, the event was devoid of masks and social distancing norms. Consequently, Pasha was arrested for violating the Disaster Management Act.
