Around 11.17 crore registered farmers will get the benefit of the seventh instalment of the Central government’s biggest agriculture scheme. Government to send 2000 rupees to farmers in the next 20 days under PM Kisan Samman Yojana.
Farmers receive the seventh instalment of Rs 2000 by the end of November under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
PM-Kisan Yojna
The Modi government announced the PM-Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme in February 2019. Its objective is to provide income support of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs 2000 quarterly to all eligible farmers in the country. Farmers get the first instalment between December and March and the second between April and July. The third instalment is deposited between August and November. The scheme covers small and marginal farmer families having combined landholding/ ownership of up to 2 hectares and also those who work in allied sectors. However, it has no provision for landless labourers.
KCC and PM-Kisan Scheme
The government has also linked Kisan Credit card with PM Kisan Yojana and has made getting loans easy for farmers. Since the government has data related to land, the beneficiaries of the scheme can easily download the KCC form from the website and submit it to their nearest bank with the documents asked. The government has identified that around three crores of PM-Kisan beneficiaries are not utilizing the services of KCC.
Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare has identified 11.17 crores beneficiaries so far with the latest number of 9,19,46,311 beneficiaries for AUG-NOV 2020-21.
In all, the government has so far transferred around 95 thousand crores to farmers’ accounts.
