The Central government is constantly moving in the direction to upgrade the processes of farming. The government launched CHC Farm Machinery app to enable farmers to hire high-quality farming machines at reasonable prices. Further, Krishi Kisan app launched to provide cultivation solutions to farmers.
CHC Farm Machinery
CHC Farm Machinery will allow farmers to rent out the appropriate number of farm machinery from their nearest custom hiring centers. Serviceable area radius is 50 km.
Farmers can see photos of machinery with their rental prices and contact the centers according to their requirements. It is especially beneficial for small and marginal farmers who are unable to afford expensive machinery. Multiple language options makes the app user friendly.
Krishi Kisan
‘Krishi Kisan‘ app demonstrates technology and cultivation techniques to farmers. Farmers are further notified on new high yielding variety farming seeds.
Moreover, the app would provide the facilities of geo-tagging, geo-fencing and weather forecasting which will prevent crops from damage. However, app has limited use as many users have complained about limited content and usage problems.
The Result
Agriculture Minister Mr Narendra Singh Tomar, stated that more than 40,000 customer service centers have been already registered on the app. Further, 120000 agricultural equipments have been registered for renting. Various farm banks have also been established under schemes like Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna for the same.
This approach will take farming in India to the next level. It would prevent any wastage of resources and let the farmers work according to their budget. Machinery is the basic requirement in today’s era and the government is working on to make these accessible to all.
