Total of 343 new Coronavirus cases reported in West Bengal today as total cases hike to 9328. Active cases as on date stand at 5117. Total of 159 COVID-19 positive patients cured and 17deaths reported today in the state.
As presented on the graph, Coronavirus cases in West Bengal are rising at a concerning rate. However, the growth rate of new cases reduced from 6% yesterday to 5% today.
COVID-19 District Wise Report
Kolkata District remains the worst affected district in West Bengal. In the last 24 hours, Kolkata reported 110 positive cases making the overall tally 3128. Following that, Howrah and 24 North Parganas Districts report a total of 1524 and 1258 cases respectively. All 23 Districts in the state have reported 11 or more COVID-19 cases till date. Jhargram district remains the least affected in the state.
Tests in the State
Tests conducted till 10th June by the state are 297419. On 10th June, 9519 sample were tested for COVID-19 infection. For every 1 million people 2069 people have been tested. Total testing laboratories in West Bengal are 43.
Death Rate and Cured Cases
The coronavirus death rate in West Bengal is at an alarming level of 4.63% compared to the national average of 2.79%. The recovery rate is at 40.51% with over 3779 recoveries so far. The death toll is at 432 as 17 deaths were noted in the state today.
West Bengal Issues New Guidelines for Government Employees
As per the new guidelines, only asymptomatic government employees are allowed to attend the offices. Furthermore, they must from be non- containment zones. Meanwhile, the rest of the staff are advised to work from home.
West Bengal Migrants Still Stranded in Maharashtra
Despite Maharashtra claiming it does not need any more Shramik Special Trains. Several people are awaiting to go back to their native, especially West Bengal. Following this, few petitions have been filled. The petition highlights that many of the migrant workers applications are left unattended.
