Coronavirus Cases in Punjab Increase to 79 as 11 New Cases Confirmed

Data from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare confirmed 11 new Coronavirus positive cases in Punjab taking the total number to 79. Total of 4 patients have recovered so far and 7 deaths have been reported. Currently, COVID-19 active cases in the state are 68.

Total Coronavirus Cases in Punjab

Out of the 11 new Coronavirus cases, 4 are from SAS Nagar (Mohali), 2 Fategarh Sahib, 2 Rupnagar, 1 Amritsar, 1 Ludhiana and 1 from Kapurthala. Mohali and Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar (Nawanshahr) are the worst affected districts in Punjab with 19 cases each. Although its been more than 10 days that no new case has been reported in Nawanshahr.

Total Coronavirus Deaths and Recovered Patients in Punjab

Total of seven deaths have been reported in Punjab. One death was reported from all these districts: Ludhiana, Pathankot, Amritsar, SAS Nagar, Patiala, Hoshiarpur, and Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar. Death from Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar is of Mr Baldev Singh. He is known to infect 27 people in his district including 14 of his family members.

Four patients have recovered in Punjab so far. There are reports that 6 more patients have tested negative and will be discharged soon.
