Mustard Seed Price in India (Sarson) Mandi Wise 12-08-2021

Mustard Seed prices fall by over 1% as arrivals in major mandis across India increased. At the beginning of the Mustard seeds harvest the stock arrival at mandis dropped by over 25% compared to the previous year which led to a temporary increase in prices. As the arrival increased in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh Mandis we are seeing price correction. However, the falling price might be temporary with limited global production. Canada in particular expects a harvest of 16.90 million tons of mustard seeds in 2021 as compared to 18.6 million tons in 2020.

In another report for Mustard seeds estimate production by USDA, the World Mustard seed production for 2021-22 is estimated to increase by 4% to 741 lakh tonnes. However, the actual scenario seems different.
