3689 COVID Deaths Reported in India on Saturday
India reported 3689 COVID deaths on Saturday. This remains the single highest daily death toll ever reported.
India reported a total of 3,92,488 new COVID cases on Saturday. Further 3,07,865 COVID patients recovered in the past 24 hours as per MoHFW. Total COVID cases increased to 1,95,57,457, recovered patients 1,59,92,271, COVID death toll jumped to 2,15,542. While COVID active cases in India stood at 33,49,644.

According to Mohfw a total of 15,68,16031 COVID vaccination doses have been administered in India.
In the past 24 hours, only 18,26,219 Vaccine doses given across India. On Friday, 27,44,485 COVID Vaccine doses were administered and this fall only confirms claims by various state governments that they are not receiving the required COVID vaccine doses.

When Should One Get Vaccinated After Recovering From COVID?
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, anyone who tested positive for COVID should get vaccinated at least two to eight weeks after a 14-day recovery from COVID-19.
If you are showing symptoms of COVID one should avoid vaccination. You should wait at least two weeks after symptoms subdue to get vaccinated.
Ideally doctors have recommended 6-8 weeks interval between the two doses of COVID vaccine. However, if you test COVID positive in between the two doses, doctors recommend a 2-4 week wait time till all COVID symptoms go away.

Medical Supplies Arrive at Delhi Airport From France
Today morning a flight carrying medical supplies from France arrived in Delhi. French envoy state that they have been working with the Indian Government to provide assistance. India helped France during their COVID crisis in 2020 and they wanted to show solidarity now that India is experiencing difficulty in dealing with COVID second wave. It’s the largest package France provided to any country since beginning of COVID crisis.

USAID Sends COVID Supplies to India via Two Air Shipments
Two COVID supplies shipments have arrived from USAID. Further, 3 additional COVID relief supply aircraft carrying life-saving oxygen, oxygen supplies, and other critical health commodities departed from the US to India.
US Agency for International Development (USAID) confirmed that the three aircraft are transporting oxygen cylinders and regulators, oxygen concentrators, rapid diagnostic tests, and more than one million N95 masks. One of these flights will carry a Deployable Oxygen Concentration System. In addition, more supplies will follow from the USA.
