USD/INR- The Rupee was at 74.25 as of 06:24 PM IST on 25th August. Indian rupee saw an intra-day high of 74.17 and a low of 74.51. Positive news about the vaccine, weak dollar, high foreign fund inflows and a favourable domestic equity market helped the rupee strengthen against the greenback.
USD/ INR: Oil Prices Today
Today, the WTI futures fell by 0.2% and ended the day at USD 42.53 by 00:55 GMT. On the other hand, Brent crude increased by 0.5% and was at USD 45.18. Oil prices were affected by the increasing cases and also the two hurricanes moving towards the US Gulf Coast.
USD/ INR- Gold Prices Today
Gold prices further fell again today. The October gold futures fell by 0.15% to end at Rs. 51,193 per 10 grams on the multi-commodity exchange. In the international market, spot gold fell by 0.5% and was at $1,922.67 per ounce. Likewise, Silver futures fell by 1.05% to Rs. 66,366 per kg.
The gold prices fell because even though the dollar was weak. The positive news about the vaccine for COVID-19 offset the gains that gold received because of the weak dollar. Also, investors will be keenly looking at the monetary policy announcements from the US Central Bank because it will have an impact on gold prices.
USD/ INR- Sensex Today
The Sensex ended in green after opening positively yesterday. That is, it was up by 0.12% today and saw a 44.80 point increase. Accordingly, it ended at 38,843.88 at 3:40 PM IST on today. Also, the NIFTY saw a rise of 94.85 points or 0.051% and ended at 11,472.25. Also, the midcap stocks performed better than the larger stocks, and the financial stocks continued to do well. Hindustan Unilever, RIL and Nestle India were some stocks that incurred losses today.
